Do you have thin eyebrows that you have always wished were thicker? Microblading is one of the latest technologies used to help improve the appearance of eyebrows. How does this procedure work exactly? Microblading is a cosmetic surgery procedure used to make your eyebrows look fuller. Microblading is considered a tattooing procedure that will last up to three years.
Understanding Microblading
Microblading is a small hand-held tool with a small needle that will break into the skin and inject ink to “fill” the eyebrows. Successful microblading is performed by a professional at our Ogden medical spa center. The color and effect can eventually fade and will need some touch-ups later to maintain your desired look. Microblading allows you to have full, defined looking eyebrows.
The procedure itself can take a couple hours to complete, but you will see darker eyebrows right after your treatment. Generally the procedure is a simple one that provides you with permanent results. It is important to remember that any time you are getting a tattoo, there are certain things to consider, as this will be a permanent procedure that will alter your skin.
Is Microblading Safe?
When performed by trained professionals, microblading is a relatively safe procedure. Our licensed doctors and medical professionals have the correct training and experience to perform microblading in our Ogden medical spa.
What to Expect
On the day of the procedure, we will discuss any additional concerns prior to getting started. Some of the things we will do include talking about how the eyebrows will look and what type of discomfort you will feel. Some patients are able to stand the procedure without numbing cream, but we generally use a topical numbing ointment to reduce discomfort. It can take two hours or less depending upon how much work needs to be performed.
Caring for Your Eyebrows
Following treatment, you can continue on with your normal routine. We will provide ointment you can place on the eyebrows to help them heal properly. Some patients may experience scabbing during the healing process, along with mild swelling and redness. It is advised to avoid wearing makeup for a few days as the area heals. Normally it takes about 7-10 days for complete healing to occur.
Touch ups may be required to keep your eyebrows looking full. Most patients find they want minimal touch ups to their eyebrows after about two years. For additional information about microblading, please contact Intermountain Aesthetics MD Spa at 801-528-6088.
